Marion M. Westergren, age 98, of Iron River, WI, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2020 at Willow Manor.
Marion was born on February 27, 1922 in Tripoli to Daniel & Eutha (Wilcott) Shay. She was married to William D. Westergren on March 25, 1949 in Tomahawk. He preceded her in death in 2007. Marion helped her husband at the Co-Op Store for many years. Later she worked as a CNA at Golden Age Nursing Home in Tomahawk.
Marion was an excellent seamstress and baker – she was especially known for her sour cream twists. She sewed many of her own clothes and always looked nice. She loved reading, family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren.
Marion is survived by her daughters – MaryAnn (Tom) Lake of EauClaire and Marlys (James) Plucinak of Florida; her son – William R. (Anna) Westergren of East Bethel, Minnesota; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband – William.
The Funeral Service for Marion Westergren will take place at 12:00PM on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Mathein will officiate. Visitation will take place from 11:00AM until the time of service at 12:00PM. Burial in Somo Cemetery will immediately follow the service.
