Marjorie Petaja

Marjorie A Petaja, age 89, of Tomahawk, passed away at her home on Monday, November 21, 2016. Marjorie was born on February 25, 1927 in the town of Spirit, to Henry & Iola (Swenson) Larson. She was married to Melvin Petaja on July 16, 1944 in Waukegan, IL. He passed away in 1992. Marge had been employed at JC Penneys for many years. She and her husband retired back to Tomahawk in 1989. Marge is survived by: 2 sisters, Janice (Ralph) Nelson, of Waukesha Susan (Roger) Tlusty, of Coon Rapids, MN 1 brother, Eugene (Carol) Larson, of Andover, MN Marge was a loving aunt to 13 nieces and nephews and countless great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter - Joanne Broderick, sister - Virginia Ernst & brother – John Larson. Funeral services for Marjorie Petaja will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Spirit Hillcrest Cemetery in the town of Spirit.
