Mark Allen Cameron

June 29, 1946 — February 26, 2019

Mark A. Cameron AKA “The Wolfman” 72

Mark A. Cameron of Woodruff, WI passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Ascension Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. Born June 29,1946 in Syracuse, NY to Allen and Irene Cameron, he is survived by Mary Miceli, his life partner of 33 years and her three children Jerome Miceli, Rose Miceli and Eric Miceli, as well as his four children, Regina Carroll and Greg Cameron, who both live in New York State, and Sylvia Smith and Glen Cameron residing in Ohio.

Mark began his journey serving his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, earning a National Defense Service Medal. He was forever proud of his service to his country and kept in touch with his fellow Marines up until his passing.

After his military service, Mark became a local and over the road truck driver, and at one point, drove the cement truck that laid concrete for the launch pads at Cape Canaveral in Florida. It was in the orange state where he found his passion, an affinity for power-lifting. Mark was a champion powerlifter who subsequently broke the Florida State record for squats, lifting a remarkable 760 pounds. He also enjoyed a good round of boxing and was a Golden Glove boxer as well as an arm-wrestling champion.

Mark loved his country, was an avid supporter of the second amendment and was a man of strong words and even stronger advice. He reached out to those in need, from all walks of life, and offered a helping hand in their darkest hour. Mark Cameron was a man of his word, a protector of his family and if you were fortunate to know him, you walked away from his presence a better person.

He was a resident of many places, but found his home in Woodruff with Mary Miceli, his life partner of 33 years. He was a disc jockey on local radio stations and a well-respected driver for Ritchie Oil and Propane. When facing a decision, Mark’s advice was to “go where the future is.” He heeded his own advice which took him many places and gave him experiences and adventures most people never see.

He was a father to everyone who crossed his path, a provider and a man of integrity and strength. He and Mary together helped family and friends and shared both good times, and the not so good times, and their love was true and time-tested. Mark was too wise to give up and too wise to give in and when he was here with us, there was never a dull moment. He is greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to be his family and those who had the honor of calling him a friend.

Memorial Gathering for Mark will be held on Sunday, May 26th from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel with Memorial Service at 1:00 PM followed by Military Honors and a reception.
