Marvel D. Heikkinen, age 90, a longtime Brantwood resident, passed away on June 30, 2015 at Cumberland Heights, Rhinelander.
Marvel was born on July 12, 1924 in Chicago. Her parents were Harry & Eleanor Kramer. She married William W. Heikkinen on September 8, 1942 in Milwaukee. They moved to the Brantwood area 70 years ago. Marvel and her husband joined with the Carl Heikkinen family and created Heikkinen Brothers Dairy & Forest Products. They lived on the dairy farm and also had a Christmas Tree Farm. Marvel enjoyed visiting with friends and sharing her famous bread and cinnamon rolls. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Brantwood. Following retirement, Marvel and Willie built their dream house where some joked they could still see the cows, but didn't have to milk them.

3 Sons, Gary (Linda) of Fort Atkinson
Bruce (Leanne Oehler) of Edgewood, WA
Brian of Tomahawk
5 grandchildren, Sara (Patrick) Walsh, Laura Chenault, Karla, Kyle & Kaylah Heikkinen.
Marvel is further survived by 3 Great Grandchildren, Emily, Hannah & Carter, and her best friend and cousin, Viola Salmi.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Willie.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Tomahawk VFW at 11:00AM. The visitation will take place at the VFW from 10:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM.
