Mary Catherine Nienaber

Mary Catherine Nienaber, age 96 of Arbor Vitae, WI died on Monday, January 27th at her residence. Mary was born on February 6, 1923 in Lisbon, North Dakota the daughter of Ortho and Jeanette (nee Granger) Watts. She graduated from the University of Minnesota and married Robert Nienaber Sr. on June 7, 1945. She was a piano teacher, loved choir directing and did substitute teaching.
Mary is survived by her children Robert G. Nienaber Jr., Mary Jane Stevens, William J. Nienaber Sr., James P. Nienaber and Deborah A. Mulvaney and by her grandchildren Scott, Steve, Ethan, Josh, Sam, Stephanie, “Joey”, Mary Jo, John, Jane and Daniel and by great grandchildren Brandon, Michael, Jeff, Austin, Patrick, William, Matthew and Tobey and by her sister Karen Hayes.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Nienaber Sr., and her sisters Fran and Jane.
Cremation took place and a memorial service will be held at a later date and not on Saturday, May 30th at 2:00 pm. New date will be posted after COVID-19 is over. Services will still be at Lac du Flambeau Community Presbyterian Church.
