Mary E. Johnson, 78, of Phillips, transitioned peacefully on the morning of Thursday, September 10, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born November 22, 1941 in Chicago, IL, and married Charles A. Johnson, Jr., on May 6, 1961. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Joseph and Pamela.
Mary was a homemaker, an active member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, a member of Jump River, Brentwood, and Spirit Historical Societies and attended many local community and charity events.
She loved collecting crafts and attending various shows and was very creative, resourceful woman with a passion for making crafts and homemade gifts. She also enjoyed spending time with her canine companion, Missy, who for 16 years provided her with much joy.
She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 59 years, Charles A. Johnson, Jr.; daughter, Jacqueline Johnson; son, James (Cheryl) Johnson; and her 3 grandchildren, Anthony, Ryan, and Erik; many special nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10am until 12pm on Friday, September 18, 2020, at Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home, 304 N. Avon Ave, Phillips, WI 54555.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catkins Animal Rescue, Inc.
