Mary Joyce Sherman

Mary Joyce Sherman, age 80, passed away Wednesday, February 03, 2016 at Sacred Heart Hospital, in Tomahawk. Joyce was born on February 28, 1935 in Chicago, IL to Joseph & Jennett (Micus) Kalafut. She lived most of her life in Chicagoland area. Joyce was married to Walter "Jerry" Sherman on February 28, 1953. Together, they had three children. After Jerry's retirement in 1990, he and Joyce moved to Tomahawk. She enjoyed the casino trips and playing bingo, fishing and boating on Lake Nokomis, and taking care of her family. Joyce is survived by Daughter, Sherry (Richard) Kaminski of Tomahawk Son, Gerald (Jaqueline) Sherman of Demotte, IN She is further survived by two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three favorite friends - Bryan & Anna McMeekin and Kurt Harry. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, and son, Daniel. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:00PM on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tomahawk. Fr. Louis Reddy Maramreddy will officiate. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 11:00AM until the time of Mass at 1:00PM. Burial will immediately follow at Prairie Rapids Cemetery in the town of Nokomis. The Krueger Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
