Mary Stroming, 90, a long-time resident of Tomahawk, passed away May 8, 2010 at Luther Home in Marinette. Mary was born November 6, 1919 in Chicago. Her family moved to Tomahawk when she was 6 years old. She met her future husband while taking confirmation classes at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. After graduating high school, Mary married Elroy Stroming on June 30, 1937. They lived in Tomahawk the majority of their married life, except when Elroy was in the service during WWII. She was employed with National Container Box Plant, U.S. Industries and as a waitress at several Tomahawk restaurants. She enjoyed snowmobiling, square dancing, and traveling, to Europe and almost every state in the U.S. In 2008, the couple moved to Marinette.

Mary is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, and 3 sisters.
A Memorial Service for Mary Stroming will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010 from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
