Maurice "Tommy" Thompson, of N8651 County Road E, Tomahawk passed away Tuesday evening at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau.
Tommy was born on May 10, 1922, in Abbotsford, to Maurice C. & Bessie (Nemisch) Thompson. Tommy and his wife, Dolores (Barr), wed on November 28, 1946 in LaCrosse, WI. In 1952, they moved to Tomahawk and made it their home. Tommy is a United States Army Veteran having served in World War II. Before retiring in 1982, Tommy worked for O.I. for 32 years as an instrument supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in the yard. Tommy was also a ham radio operator and enjoyed playing the trumpet and baritone in the Tomahawk City Band. He will be forever remembered as a jack of all trades.

Further survived by 14 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, Dan and 1 sister, Marjorie Helding.
Funeral Services for Tommy Thompson will be held on Friday, November 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Burial with Military Rites will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
