Mavis E. Salacinski, age 89, of Tomahawk, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Riverview Health Services.
Mavis was born on August 19, 1931 in Milwaukee to Lawrence & Mary (Landwehr) Daoust. She was married to Harold Salacinski in Tomahawk on June 27, 1953. Harold preceded her in death in 2008. Mavis was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Mavis enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, reading, sewing, crocheting, collecting angels and displaying many of the lapel pins she received. She also knitted over 1000 baby hats for Madison Children’s Hospital.
Mavis is survived by 4 daughters – Ann (Eugene) Zacharias of Wild Rose, Patricia (Gus) Feind of Tomahawk, Carol Noskowiak of Weyauwega & Valerie Engle of Tomahawk; 2 sons – Michael (Judith) Salacinski of Oconto & Daniel (Laurie) Salacinski of Marshfield. She is further survived by 14 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband – Harold, two sisters – Margaret Gartzke and Deloris Cortazzo, one brother – Donald Landwehr, son-in-law - Tony Engle and one great grandson – Jaxon.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 9:30AM on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will take place from 8:30AM until the time of Mass at 9:30AM.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
