Melvin Weber, age 89, 4646 Cty. Hwy. Y, Tomahawk, died Sunday, July 8, 2012 at his residence under hospice care.
Mel was born December 23, 1922 in Stratford, the son of Peter and Clara (Krueger) Weber. He married Agnes Kieliszewski on February 20, 1954 in Minocqua; she passed away in 2006. Mel was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII. He lived most of his life in the Willow area, and owned and operated Little Rice Resort in Tomahawk for 45 years. Mel served on the Little Rice Town Board, and was the former Town Fire Warden. He enjoyed grooming and working on the local snowmobile trails.
Mel is survived by many nieces and nephews, and special friend Donnie Wright of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Stella Popp, Angeline Clements, Lylas Copes, and Eleanor Crofoot, brothers, Harvey, Jesse, and Lester.
Funeral Services with Military Rites for Melvin Weber will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Pastor Larry Mathein will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Prairie Rapids Cemetery in Tomahawk.
