Mercedes Erickson

Mercedes L. Erickson, age 95, 11 W. Merrill Ave. #1, Tomahawk, passed away October 29, 2007 at her residence under hospice care. Mercedes was born February 18, 1912 in Tomahawk to Alvin and Myrtle (Roberts) Slater. She married August Erickson in 1933 in Tomahawk; he passed away in 1985. Mercedes was formerly employed with McCarthy's Floral, Hanke's Supermarket, and also cleaned cottages at local resorts. She was a member of the Lily Lake Homemakers' Club and enjoyed gardening, picking wild berries, and visiting with friends. She was a member of the former Covenant Church in Tomahawk. Survivors include: 2 Sons Willis Erickson of Waterloo Neal (Molly) Erickson of Saukville 2 Daughters-in-law Yvonne Erickson Mary Ann Erickson both of Tomahawk 1 Sister Geraldine Feleccia of Milwaukee 1 Sister-in-law Agnes Slater of Florida Mercedes is further survived by 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband - August, 2 sons - Roland and Gerald, and 1 daughter - Marilyn. Funeral Services for Mercedes Erickson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2007 from Krueger & Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Joel Kuhner will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from Noon until the hour of services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
