Michael L. Wenzel, 59, Hawkins, died on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.
He was born on November 23, 1956, in Sheboygan, the son of Frederick and Lois (Horneck) Wenzel. He attended Sheboygan Falls High School. Following high school he was employed at various occupations including a logger, an over the road trucker, and then in the telecommunications industry until the time of his retirement. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially his 2 granddaughters, making maple syrup with his father, hunting fishing and traveling.
He is survived by his Mother, Lois, his brother Douglas (Rebecca), all of Stanley, Wi., by 2 Step Daughters: Chasity Wells, Aurora, Colo., and Sabrina Veverka, Phillips, by 2 granddaughters: Asaisha and Ayanna Wells, Aurora, Colo., by 3 nephews: Joshua, Mathew and Michael Wenzel, Stanley, Wi., and by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Frederick on Aug. 9, 2010, and by his wife Lisa on Feb. 15, 2013.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips is in charge of the arrangements.
