Michael J. Soucy, age 56, W4437 Cty. Rd. D., Tomahawk, passed away December 15, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mike was born July 25, 1952 in Madison, the son of Floyd and Valborg (Ramsli) Soucy. He married Jessica Skogg on August 26, 1972 in Madison. Mike was a 1970 graduate of La Follette High School in Madison. He served with the Madison Police Department from 1971 - 1973. In 1973, he began service with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department, working his way up the ranks to Chief Deputy in 1997. He was the first D.A.R.E. officer of Lincoln County, was a former Special Response Team Leader, and completed the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia in 2000. He was a member of the Blue Knights International Motorcycle Club, the Wisconsin Sheriff & Deputy Sheriff Association, Wisconsin Association of S.W.A.T. Personnel, and Wisconsin D.A.R.E. Officers' Association. Mike enjoyed ice fishing, traveling with his wife on their Harley-Davidson, and philately. He especially enjoyed taking long walks and treasured the time he spent with his grandsons.

Mike is further survived by many wonderful friends.
A Memorial Service for Michael Soucy will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2008 from Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Lincoln County Sheriff's Department Chaplain and Pastor of Bible Presbyterian Church Bob Smallman will officiate. The family will receive friends at Grace Lutheran on Monday from Noon until the hour of services at 4:00 p.m.
