Michael Titler, age 62, 2512 Lake Nokomis Road, Tomahawk, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Destin, Florida.
Mike was born May 9, 1951 in Bowling Green, Ohio, the son of Kenneth and Roberta (Miller) Titler. He married Mary Riedel on November 30, 1973 in Perrysburg, Ohio. In 1980, Mike started his employment with Owens-Illinois in Tomahawk, and recently retired as a Semi Chem Operator from PCA Tomahawk Mill after 33 years of employment. Following his retirement, he and his wife realized their dream of buying a fifth-wheel and traveling to spend time in a warmer climate. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and going to car shows - especially his annual trip to Iola. Mike was focused on his family, and loved to travel. He had fond memories of his elk hunting trip to Oregon, and his pheasant hunting trip to South Dakota. He was a member of Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomahawk.
Survivors include: wife, Mary Titler, Tomahawk; son, Tim (Katie) Titler, Green Bay; daughter, Jill (Jim) Schwebach, Elmwood; sister, Barb Chapman, Ohio. Mike is further survived by three grandchildren - Grace, Ruth, and Zander, his close friend - Keefe Snyder of Perrysburg, Ohio, and his dog and loyal companion - Potter. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters - Bonnie Fortney and Kathy Carver, and brother - James Titler.
Funeral Services for Mike Titler will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Gass will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12th at the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday the 13th from 10:00 AM until the hour of services at 11:00 AM.
