Michael J. Gillette, Sr., age 85, of Tomahawk, passed away at his home on November 21, 2022.
Mike was born on January 14, 1937 in Madison, WI to Donald & Jane Gillette. He was a 1955 graduate of Tomahawk High School. Mike was married to Barbara Ifland on January 14, 1956; she passed away in 1999. Mike was the manager at the Tomahawk Theater during the late 60’s into the early 70’s. Mike worked at Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company for 42 years. He loved hunting and fishing. Mike was an avid Packer and Brewer fan. He also enjoyed bowling and senior golf league. Mike loved being with his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren.
Mike is survived by five children – Mike (Penny) Gillette of Marshfield, Pat (Dee) Gillette of Tomahawk, Laurie (Rich) Anderson of Stevens Point, Eric (Roberta) Gillette of Richfield and Jennifer (Clint) Richards of Tomahawk. He is further survived by 13 grandchildren – Jennifer (Jim) McCullough, Max (Shawna) Gillette, Kristin (Chris) Mueller, Derek (April) Heikkinen, Haley (Marcus) Steigerwaldt, Priscilla (Jason) Weis, Eric (Taylor) Anderson, Tara (Michael) Ferron, Meghan Grodevant, Riley (Sonya) Gillette, Bryce Gillette, Ross (Autumn) Richards and Morgan Richards; 20 great grandchildren – Landen. Kinsley, Ava, Reese, Landen, Madison, Scarlett, Myles, Mason, Clara, Amelia, Aspen, Easton, Brayden, Nya, Bronz, Carter, Kamden, Kolten and Kayden; one brother – Tom Gillette of Vesper; and his dear friend – Lu Schroeter of Wausau.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, wife – Barbara and son – Tim.
The Funeral Service for Mike Gillette will take place at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Krueger Family Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 9:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM.
