Millard "Bill" Beranek, age 73, 717 W. Leather Ave., Tomahawk, passed away June 3, 2009 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.
Bill was born October 17, 1935 in Chicago, the son of Frank and Mildred Beranek. He was raised in Chicago, entered the U.S. Navy (R.O.T.C.) following high school graduation, and served in the Korean War. He was an electrician in the Chicago area for many years. He moved to Rhinelander in 1966, and married Phyllis Michaels on February 23, 1973. He was the former owner of Northern Electric in Rhinelander and was also formerly employed with Twist Drill for 17 years. He and Phyllis lived in Carson City, Nevada from 1994 until 2004, when they moved to the Tomahawk area. Bill was a member of the American Legion. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing, and feeding the birds and other animals. He had a special affection for his dog - "Bear".

Bill is further survived by 1 grandson - Ian, many nieces and nephews, and special friends - Beetle and Susie Nyberg and Kelly Kapugia.
A Memorial Service for Bill Beranek will be held at a later date at the American Legion Hall in Tomahawk.
