Miriam “Mitzi” Flynn, age 79, of Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.
Mitzi was born on April 4, 1939 in Tomahawk to Earl & Lillian (Johnson) Kopelke. Mitzi attended St. Mary Catholic School for 8 years and graduated from THS in 1957. Later, she attended Eau Claire State College & St. Joseph Nursing School in Marshfield. In May of 1960, Mitzi was married to the love of her life & best friend, Jerry Flynn. Together, they had three children and they were the pride and joy of her life.
Mitzi worked at Charlene’s Gift Box, Solar Permanent, Thorp Finance & Timber Producers of MI and WI. She was also the Town of Bradley Treasurer. Mitzi was very active in the Tomahawk Hockey Association, and was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Mitzi loved sports, especially the Packers, Badgers and anything that her children were taking part in. She was an excellent cook, loved socializing and especially loved her time spent at family gatherings during the holidays.
Mitzi is survived by her husband – Jerry of Tomahawk; three children – Pat (Paula) Flynn, Mary (Dave) Miller & Brian (Wendy) Flynn, all of Tomahawk; 7 grandchildren –Ryan (Jenna), Andrew, Kellan, Nikolene (Brandon) Johnson, Thomas Miller, Jerett & Cullen. She is further survived by special cousins – Sally, Peggy, Neal & Maury; her sister-in-law – Audrey Flynn of Eau Claire & brother-in-law – Ron (Carol) Flynn of Chetek.
Mitzi is preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law – Jack Flynn and sister-in-law – Bev (Bob) Brainard.
The Memorial Mass for Mitzi Flynn will take place at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Fr. Louis Maram Reddy will officiate. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 10:00AM until the time of Mass at 12:00 Noon.
