Myrt (Spittel) Schwarze, age 79, N8003 Cty. Rd. H, Irma, passed away June 14, 2007 at Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff. Myrt was born February 1, 1928 in Minnesota Junction, Wisconsin to William and Ida (Draeger) Backhaus. She married Roy Spittel on December 13, 1947; he passed away in 1976. She later married Keith Schwarze on September 1, 1989 in Stetsonville; he survives. Myrt was raised in Juneau, Wisconsin, graduating from Juneau High School in 1945. She later resided in Horicon, Stratford, and Abbotsford before moving to Tomahawk in 1996. Myrt was formerly employed with Gardner Manufacturing in Horicon. She formerly owned and operated Time Out Bar in Stratford. She was a member of the Horicon Legion Auxiliary and a member of Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Survivors include: Husband Keith Schwarze of Irma 1 Daughter Audrey (Bernie) Bashynski of Beaver Dam 2 Sons Bruce (Kathy) Spittel of Horicon Ross Spittel of Waupaca 1 Step Son Kurt (Lisa) Schwarze of Stratford 3 Step Daughters Beth Klatt of Fond du Lac Gwen (Robert) St. Pierre Dawn (Scott) Penning both of Oshkosh Myrt is further survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 1 step great grandson, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband - Roy, and 1 great granddaughter. Funeral Services for Myrt (Spittel) Schwarze will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2007 from Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Gass and Rev. James Babler will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19th at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon with Rev. Dan Seehafer officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff, Ministry Home Hospice, Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church, or the church of your choice.
