Nancy Ahles, age 61, formerly of Harshaw, passed away Sunday, April 7th, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born December 22, 1951, in Rhinelander, the daughter of Otto M. and Virginia (Crass) Ahles. She graduated from Rhinelander High School, and the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a degree in Elementary Education and Art. Nancy taught elementary school art in the Amery School District in western Wisconsin for several years. She was named Wisconsin Teacher of the Year while there and received her lifetime teaching certificate. She also started a school of dance and baton classes for young children. Later Nancy went into sales and marketing working for different companies at Mall of America and as director of an art gallery. She moved to Los Angeles for a year and did promotional marketing. In 1982 she moved to Las Vegas. She worked for several art galleries in sales including Circle of Fine Art at the MGM, now Bally's, and was Director of Sales. While there she actively solicited donations for the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy telethons. In 1991 she began a motivational counseling service. Later she worked for Hilton Grand Vacation Clubs in sales achieving Sales Person of the Year three years in a row. She also worked For Consolidated Resort then moved on to a smaller internet marketing company. She is survived by brothers Michael 'Mick' (Tammy) Ahles of Harshaw, and Kevin 'K.C.' (Carol) Ahles of Tomahawk, life partner Ken Fischel of Las Vegas, NV, and her pet dog - Peanut. Nancy is preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother Lonnie. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, May 18th at the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday the 18th from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to The Caring Place in Las Vegas or the Hope Lodge of the American Cancer Society in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
