NANCY ANN MAC CALLUM
March 2, 2019, Nancy Ann MacCallum, 71, passed away at her home after a battle with stomach cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, on March 27, 1947. "She spent her childhood growing up between Wisconsin and Illinois. She ended up in the Phillips, Wisconsin, area where she married and had three sons, Patrick, Kenneth (Kenny) and Anthony (Tony); and a daughter, Cynthia Peterson.
Nancy was a loving, caring woman with a heart of gold. She arrived in the Golden Heart City in 1981 with her now ex-husband Wiley Peterson for an adventure in gold mining in Alaska.
Nancy was one of the first car saleswomen in Fairbanks, where she worked for Fran and Bill Gutman in the '80s. Nancy spent her summers in the late '80s and early '90s working at the Central Motor Inn in Central.
Nancy was part owner of the now closed Norlite Camp Ground on Peger Road from 1997 to 2002. She was also part owner of the Historical Paxson Lodge from 2007 to 2013. Nancy enjoyed her golden years playing bingo at the various Fairbanks bingo halls with her loving husband of 28 years, William G. Mac-Callum III.
Nancy is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Cynthia Peterson; her grandsons, Justin Simmons and Ryan Tamborrino; and her parents, Eugene and Lucille Steinke.
Nancy is survived by her husband William G. MacCallum III; her sons, Patrick Peterson and wife Tonya Clark, Kenny Peterson and wife Catrina Peterson, and Tony Peterson; step-sons, Blake MacCallum and wife Valora MacCallum, and Dayton MacCallum and wife Jessica MacCallum; grandchildren, Anthony Tamborrino, Savannah Simmons, Scottie Butler, Lane Peterson, Kylee Peterson, Kyannah Blackwood, Aaron Peterson, Grant Peterson, Eloise MacCallum, Maya Hodges, Becky Hodges, Schuyler MacCallum and Otto MacCallum; great-grandchildren Titan Butler, Caiden Wert, Ariyannah Simmons, and Peyton Holmes.
Nancy will be laid to rest with her daughter in Phillips, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations to help with after life expenses should be made to William G. MacCallum III at 1135 Hayes Ave., Fairbanks, Alaska, 99709.
