Norman Crass

Norman Crass, age 93, formerly of the Tomahawk area, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Norman was born June 1, 1916 in Tomahawk, the son of Edward and Rose (Jacques) Crass. He married Amy Beatty in 1934 in Tomahawk. His entire working life, Norman ran a farm on Hwy. 107 and was a member of the N.F.O. (National Farmers' Organization). Norman moved to Florida following his retirement in 1999. He was an avid football fan, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include: 7 children Charlotte "Penny" Frostman St. Petersburg, Florida Arlene Pahls Tomahawk Darlene Appel Taylor Marlene Peterson Black River Falls Charlene (Brice) Toxen Georgia Norman Crass, Jr. Tomahawk Kerri Kretchmer Merrill Norman is further survived by 31 grandchildren, and several great and great great grandchildren. He was preceded by death by his parents, wife Amy in 1971, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 sons, and 1 daughter. Funeral Services for Norman Crass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2009 from Krueger & Sons Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Larry Mathein will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2009 and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Town of Rock Falls.
