Norman "Skeeter" Neumeyer, age 68, 116 S. 5th St., Tomahawk, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at his residence under home hospice care.
Skeeter was born January 13, 1943 in Tomahawk, the son of Matthew and Catherine (DeLisle) Neumeyer. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army as a SP4 Vehicle Motorpool and Tank Track Repair Specialist. He was honorably discharged in August 1967. He married Linda Lohmeier on October 15, 1966 in Tomahawk. Norm enjoyed his job as maintenance man at Knapinski's Resort for 20 years. He retired from PCA Tomahawk Mill after 42 years of employment. Skeeter was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and farming on the old family farm. He kept himself busy with his big vegetable garden, cutting firewood, making hay and maple syrup, and simply enjoying the sights and sounds of the great outdoors. He could also be found attending and supporting the many sporting events and activities of his grandchildren. Following his retirement, Skeeter became an avid Packer Backer, and attended many Packer parties with friends. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his group of close friends.

Skeeter is further survived by grandchildren, Noah and MaKayla Babl, Harley and Samantha Jorgensen, and Cody and Casey Myre. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers - Harold and Patrick Neumeyer, sisters - Shirley Nagakura and Mary Foreman, and very dear friend - Jerry Sherman.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Norman "Skeeter" Neumeyer will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2011 from St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home on Sunday, August 14th from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service to begin at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial with Military Rites will be at Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk.
