Oliver Korpela, age 88, N4987 Clifford Road, Tripoli, passed away May 14, 2008 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehab Center in Wausau.
Oliver was born June 13, 1919 in Clifford, the son of Gust and Maria Korpela. He married Lovetta Turgeon in 1943 in Tomahawk; she passed away November 12, 1999. He was employed with Prentice Hydraulics/Omark Industries/Blount Industries for 18 years, retiring in 1984. He was also a farmer and school bus driver. His favorite hobbies were his travels around America and to Finland where he lived for six months as a young boy and developed close friendships.

Oliver is further survived by many dear cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral Services for Oliver Korpela will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2008 from Krueger & Sons Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Fr. Edward Powell will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk.
