Onnie Haapakoski

Onnie Haapakoski, age 87, formerly of Brantwood, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Onnie was born on October 8, 1922 in Brantwood, Wisconsin to Matt and Hannah (Metsala) Haapakoski. He married Vivian Crowell on June 21, 1947 in Park Falls, Wisconsin. Onnie was a veteran of the US Army, serving during WW II. He grew up in the Brantwood area and later lived in the Milwaukee area for over 30 years, working as a pipefitter. Onnie was a member of the Steam fitters local 601 in Milwaukee. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons and he enjoyed golfing. Onnie was lucky enough to enjoy a hole in one. Survivors include: Wife, Vivian Brookfield Daughter, Lori (Glenn) Olson Brookfield 2 Sons, Randall (Teresa) Haapakoski Menomonee Falls Philip (Nancy) Haapakoski Menomonee Falls Brother, John (Eileen) Haapakoski Tomahawk Sister, Shirley (Duaine) Musser Ladysmith He is further survived by four Grandchildren and one Great Grandchild. Onnie was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and one sister. Funeral Services for Onnie Haapakoski will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11. Burial will follow in the Spirit Hillcrest Cemetery in the town of Spirit.
