Patricia "Patty" Walker

Patricia “Patty” Walker, 74, went to the Lord on Sunday, October 21 surrounded by her family at her son’s home in North Carolina, after a heroic battle with cancer.

Patty was born May 10th, 1944 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to John and Patricia Hoban.

Patty is survived by her children, two sons: Gary (Teresa) Steele of Raleigh, North Carolina and Scott (Michele) Steele of Cleveland, Ohio; two daughters: Terry Steele of Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin and Kim (Thomas) Ruchti of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, five siblings: Kathy (Mike) Martin of Corpus Christi, Texas, John (Ellen) Hoban of West Allis, Wisconsin, Susan O’Donnell of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Joe (Patty) Hoban of Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin and Mary (Ingmar) Venckus of Rockford, Michigan; six grandchildren: Colton, Ciera, Abbi, Alex, Anna and Marianna.

Patty was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Hoban of Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin.

Patty lived for 60 years in the Lakeland Area and was well-known in the community; she touched many lives in meaningful and helpful ways.
Patty was grounded in a deep and abiding faith. She was generous with her attention and time.
Patty was truly a Renaissance woman with many gifts and talents. She was a visionary. She designed and made clothing, rustic furniture and signature cookies. She was a tailor, an artist and a handywoman. She enjoyed working in her gardens. She was sought out for her wisdom and support.
Most of all, Patty loved her children, grandchildren, her family and friends. Her exuberant, fun-loving ways will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank Cleveland Clinic and Duke Cancer Center for their expertise and care.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Nimsgern Funeral and Cremation Service, 1025 Margaret Street, Woodruff, WI from 10:00 am till 11:00 am with Memorial Service at 11:00 am and a reception at 11:45 am.
