Paul R. Mikunda, 84, of 1427 E. Somo Ave., Tomahawk, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 19, 2016.
Paul was born on April 15, 1931 in Conrath, Wisconsin to Alois and Mary (Duben) Mikunda. He married Esther L. Woebbeking on October 9, 1954 also in Conrath. Paul grew up on a farm near Ladysmith, Wisconsin, the youngest of 5 boys. He had worked as a farmer, butcher, machinist, and a carpenter. He and Esther moved to Tomahawk in 1963. He was employed at the Georgia Pacific Mill in Tomahawk for 30 years, retiring in 1990 as the mill superintendent. In his spare time Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, restoring tractors, and making sausage and wine. He also enjoyed golfing and playing pool. Paul was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Paul is further survived by 3 grandchildren, Jerrod, Jordan, and Kaycie. One great granddaughter, Evalynn. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jeff, and 4 brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Mary Catholic Church. Fr. Louis Reddy Maramreddy will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 4 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m.
The visitation will continue Wednesday at the church from 10 am until the time of mass
at 11 am.
