PAULA PATRICIA VASA
Paula P. Vasa, 75, Phillips, died on Friday, June 2, 2017, at her home, under the care of her family and Flambeau Home Health and Hospice.
She was born on February 9, 1942, in Oak Park , Ill., the daughter of Harvey and Evelyn (Cordes) Lotz. She made her home in Phillips in 1957. She was married to James J. Vasa on May 12, 1959, in Phillips. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1999.
She was employed at various occupations during her working career including Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home and as a waitress. In her free time she enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, feeding wildlife, berry and mushroom picking and fishing. She caught the largest walleye within her family.
She is survived by her 6 children: James (Charlene) Vasa, Phillips, William (Aleis) Vasa Carpentersville, Ill., Patrick (Cara) Vasa, Todd Vasa, and Brad Vasa, all of Phillips, and Jessica (Gary) Kleinhans, Prentice, by 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 brother: William (Marilyn) Lotz, Bear Lake, Mi., and 3 sisters: Patricia (Phil) Perdersen, Fairplay, South Carolina, Margaret (James) Veverka, Woodridge, Ill., and Bonnie (Joe) Helton, Lovejoy, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband James on July 7, 1999.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
A memorial fund has been established.
The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangements.
