Paulette "Polly" A. Anderson

Paulette "Polly" (Kersten) Anderson, 83, of Phillips, WI, passed away on May 24, 2023, at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Merrill, WI. Polly was born on January 19, 1940, in Marshfield, WI, to Paul and Violet (Jens) Kersten. She married Vernon Anderson on August 10, 1963.
Polly attended and graduated from Mother of Sorrows High School in Blue Island, IL. She worked at Libby's and Nabsico during the summers while obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Xavier University, of Chicago, IL., completing her degree in 1962. Upon her graduation, she moved to Phillips to teach with the Phillips School District as the Art and English teacher for 29 years. She completed her Continuing Education at Mount Senario, of Ladysmith, WI, as well as Northland College in Ashland. 
Polly was a co-founder of Art & More on the Lakeshore and the Countryside Artists, member of the board of directors for Friends of Fred Smith, past member of the WI Educators Association and WI Retired Education Association, and WI Art Education Association. She enjoyed reading, traveling with her friends, and fishing. 
She is survived by her daughter, Jineen Anderson; granddaughters, Natasha (Matthew) Anderson-Butler and Sheila Uhren; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Butler and Lacey Lou Westaby; brother, Philip (Gail) Kersten; niece, Kelly Kersten; and special friends, Don and Marie Olson. 
Polly is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, and parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 655 S. Lake Ave, Phillips, WI, 54555, with Father Lourdu Raju officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church and continue until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Phillips, WI. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
