Phyllis M. Fields, Tomahawk, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.
Phyllis was born November 14, 1918 in Italy, the daughter of Carmen and Angelina DeLaurentis. She came to the United States as an infant, first living the in the New York area, then moving to Chicago. She was employed with the Jane Adams Hull House in Chicago, providing child care. She met her future husband, Donald Fields at an ammunition plant in Chicago during WWII; they were married in 1944 in Chicago. Donald and Phyllis moved to the Tomahawk area in 1947, where she was employed with the Tomahawk School District as a cook for over 30 years. She was an accomplished seamstress, was a member of the Bridge Club, Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk, and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

3 brothers Tony DeLaurentis Sam (Jackie) DeLaurentis Carmen (Anne) DeLaurentis all of Chicago, Illinois
Phyllis is further survived by 4 grandchildren - Kate, Daniel, Robert Jr., and Jonathan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband - Donald in 1956, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
Funeral Services for Phyllis Fields will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2009 from Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Rebecca Peters will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. The family requests memorials to Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk.
