PHYLLIS MARY “Babe” HARSCHUTZ
Phyllis Mary “Babe” Harschutz, 93, Phillips, passed away peacefully at Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips on Saturday, March 4. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 21, 1923, the daughter of Lorin and Agnes (Seeburger) Noyes. She was a member of the Phillips High School class of 1941. She was married to John Harschutz in Phillips on January 4, 1947. They operated Westwood Golf Course and Country Club in Phillips for a number of years, and following that she was employed as a school secretary for many years. At the time of their retirement in 1976 they returned to Phillips.
She is survived by three children, Mary (Ted) Hyer, California, Margo (Ken) Matsick, Phillips, and James, Phillips; by one daughter-in-law, Laurene; by four grandchildren, Ann, Kay, Sean, and Mindy; and by one great granddaughter, Rowen. She is preceded in death by her husband, John, who died on July 12, 1985; and by one son, John, who died on March 14, 2010.
A private family memorial is being planned for a later date. Inurnment will take place in the Saint Patrick Cemetery in Phillips.
