RALPH LUCHT
Ralph H. Lucht, 88, Ogema, died in the Aspirus Care and Rehab in Medford on Sunday, July 28, 2019. He was born in Mauston, Wisconsin, on December 6, 1930, the son of Conrad and Ester Lucht. He was a 1948 graduate of the Wonewoc High School. He served his country in the United States Army in Germany from 1953 to 1955. He was married to Darlene Olson on April 1, 1972. He was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator by Kraemer Construction until the time of his retirement. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Ogema, of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 139, of the Spirit American Legion Post No. 452, and of the Southern Price County VFW Post No. 8491. In his free time he enjoyed travel, watching NASCAR racing, reading –both books and newspapers; was a fan of older TV shows, caring for his cats and his dog, Yankee, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann (David) Schmitt, Hawkins, and Gayle (Robert) Larson, Ogema; by four grandchildren, Cory Schmitt, Steven (Zaheeda) Schmitt, Lisa (Antwan) Harris, and Laura (Kyle) Lord; and by seven great grandchildren, Maya, Annah, Haylynn, Lauryn, Evan, Leah, and Emma. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene, on May 6, 2010; and is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kelly; by two sisters, Agnes Hartjie and Rose Eden; and by one brother, Edward.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 5, at the First Lutheran Church in Ogema with Pastor Paul Oppedahl officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services on Monday. Inurnment will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Ogema. Military Honors will be conducted by the Southern Price County VFW Post No 8941 and the Spirit American Legion Post No. 452.
