RAYMOND TENUT
Raymond A. “Ray” Tenut, 83, Big Lake, Minnesota, died at his home on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. He was born in Phillips on May 10, 1934, the son of Alvin and Delia (Peters) Tenut. He was a member of the Phillips High School Class of 1952. He served his country in the United States Army. He was married to Diane Smrecek on February 5, 1983, in Robinsdale, Minnesota. He owned and operated Flash Trucking, Flash Towing, and the Lowry Service Center until the time of his retirement. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, boxing, horse racing, travel, dirt track auto racing, and watching westerns on TV.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, and by one son, Douglas, Big Lake, MN. He is preceded in death by 11 siblings, Brothers Alvin, Norman, William, Harold, Ronald, and Ralph; and by sisters Viola Anderson, Margarite Willans, Ruth Klein, Alma Blanchard, and Blanche Landmeier.
Funeral services will be held at 12:Noon on Saturday, September 2, at the Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips with Pastor Glenn Sokolowski officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122 and the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post No. 5778. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
