Raymond Romanowski, age 88, Tomahawk, passed away December 20, 2009 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.
Ray was born August 2, 1921 in Milwaukee, the son of Stanley and Pauline (Cienian) Romanowski. Ray was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Army, serving from 1939 - 1945. While in the Army, Ray served his country in the 32nd Red Arrow Division, 127th Infantry in New Guinea and the Philippines. Along with various honors and medals, he was awarded the Silver Life Saving Medal. He married Jane Iwinski on June 30, 1945 in Milwaukee. Ray was employed at Miller Brewing in Milwaukee for 30 years, retiring in 1981. Following his retirement, Ray and Jane moved to Tomahawk. He was past Commander and member of the American Legion Bronsted Searl Post 93 in Tomahawk. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time with his family - especially his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
A Memorial Mass for Ray Romanowski will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2009 from St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. A Military Tribute will precede Mass. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 1:00 p.m.
