RAYMOND CHASTAIN Sr.
Raymond Stephen Chastain Sr., 89, Town of Emery, died at his home on Thursday, September 1`2, 2019, while under the care of his family and Hope Hospice. He was born in Mango, Florida, on March 28, 1930, the son of Andrew and Lois (Waters) Chastain. He served his country in the United States Army Military Police from 1949 to 1958. He was married to Giesla Wirthmueller in Heidelberg, Germany on January 7, 1953. He was employed as a dock worker and a freight terminal worker, and served as Union Steward for Teamsters Local 200.
He is survived by six children, Raymond Jr, Phillips, Jimmy Douglas (Darcy), Milwaukee, Debra Anne Virga, Racine, Johnny P. (Tammy), Franklin, WI, Holly (Dale) Nelson, Wisconsin Rapris, WI, and Jerry Wilhealm, Phillips; by 13 grandchildren; and by great and great great grandchildren; and by other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Giesla. A private family service will be held at the Emery Cemetery on October 12 with military honors conducted by the Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No. 122 and the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post No. 5778.
