Richard Barr

Richard F. Barr, age 84, W6470 w. Kraft Rd., Tomahawk, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010 at his residence. Richard was born October 3, 1925 in Tomahawk, the son of William and Alta (Jordan) Barr. He married Delores Hess on November 14, 1964 in Tomahawk. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII. Richard worked at Owens-Illinois for 32 years, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching, gardening, fishing, the Green Bay Packers, Nascar, and spending time with his family. Survivors include: Wife Delores Sons Robert Barr Wausau Steven Smith California Daughters Roxene Barr Montana Toni (Michael) Russo Tomahawk Traci (Tom) Kriescher Wausau Terri (Joe Beutner) Barr Irma Sharon Barr Tomahawk Esther (Lee Hampton) Neely Kansas Joyce (Bruce) Graap Merrill Brother Ronald (Rosann) Barr Tomahawk Sisters Darlene Byorni Superior Marlene Barr Superior Richard is further survived by 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and best friend Ken Boykins. He was preceded in death by his parents, son - Richard, 3 brothers - Stanley, William, and Don, and a sister - Doris. Funeral Services for Richard Barr will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010 from Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Rev. Larry Mathein will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 4th from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., with a Veteran Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
