Richard "Dick" Hipler, age 74, W5930 Duck Point Road, Tomahawk, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at his residence.
Dick was born April 15, 1937 in Morton Grove, Illinois, the son of Paul and Josephine "Jo" (Heinrich) Hipler. Dick was a 1955 graduate of Tomahawk High School. He married Helga Stellmach on March 28, 1958 in Germany; she passed away in 2003. Dick spent his whole life at Duck Point Resort, which he owned since 1968. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and hunter. Dick was one of the founding members of the annual Venison Feed in Tomahawk. He enjoyed playing cards, and was a huggable bear whose bark was worse than his bite. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Dick is further survived by 3 grandchildren - Katie, Alex, and Joseph Hipler. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife - Helga, and son - Allen.
A Memorial Service for Richard "Dick" Hipler will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011 from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday the 14th from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
