RICHARD JOHN THACKER
Richard J. Thacker, 67, Town of Worcester, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at the Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls.
He was born on July 5, 1948, in Milwaukee, the son of Leslie and Edith (Trautmann) Thacker.
He spent most of his life in the Milwaukee area. He attended and graduated from Custer
High School, Milwaukee with the Class of 1966.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1972 in Alaska.
He was married to Michelle Okruszynski in 1976, in Milwaukee. They later divorced. He then married Theresa Malio on August 19, 1994, in Milwaukee.
He was employed at Aldrich Chemical Co., in Milwaukee for many years prior to his retirement in 2016. They recently moved to the Town of Worcester .In his free time he enjoyed woodworking and remodeling projects, was an avid motorcyclist, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Theresa, Town of Worcester, by 2 children: Ryan (Kate) Thacker, Bayview, Wi., and Heather (Camron) Cook, San Antonio, Texas, by 3 Stepchildren: Julie Ann (Dan) Vass, Lakewood, Colo., John (Bonnie) Zawadzki, South Milwaukee, and Walter (Jackie) Zawadzki, Hartland, Wi., 7 grandchildren: Austin. Nathaniel, Alexander, Paige, Lacey, Hadley, and Harrison, and by 2 brothers: Don (Donna) Thacker, and Paul (Pat) Thacker, all of Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at the Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, with Pastor Carol Gabrielsen of Victory Christian Church officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery, Phillips, with military honors by the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post #5778 and the Lane-Kreiling American Legion Post #122 presiding. Friends may call on Thursday, May 26, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
