Richard Louis Hanish

Richard Louis Hanish, age 67, of Nekoosa, WI, died Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at home, surrounded by family after fighting a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Richard was born September 17, 1953, in Phillips, WI, to Richard and Ethel (LaRose) Hanish. He graduated from Evansville High School in 1971. Richard married Kay Ruud on February 25, 1977, in Geneva, IL. Richard was employed with LLI doing landscaping and sprinkler systems for 20 years and then doing business for himself as RH Landscaping for over 10 years.
Richard is survived by his wife, Kay; two daughters, Carrie (John Krause) of Vesper, WI, Traci (Geronimo) Mendieta of Port Edwards, WI; one son, Justin (Bianca Nelson) of WI Rapids, WI; one step-son, Brent (Kathy) Mindock of Prentice, WI; three granddaughters, Kaylee Mendieta, Rylyn Hanish, and Blakely Hanish; four step-grandson, Tanner Mindock, Sawyer Haubert, Jaegar Haubert, and Geronimo Mendieta, Jr.; siblings, Teresa Olvera, Debra Hanish, Joe Hanish, Lori (Don) Hart, Vern (Becki) Hanish, Julia Hanish; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James.
Richard is loved and will be dearly missed. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
