Rick Lallemont

Rick Lallemont, 63, of Chippewa Falls, WI, passed away on June 10, 2022, in Rochester, MN after a nearly five-year battle with cancer. Rick was born in Ladysmith, WI on April 16, 1959, to Theodore and Dorothy Lallemont. He grew up in Catawba, WI, and graduated from Phillips High School and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Rick Lallemont was married to Karen (née Slaby) Lallemont in 1979. Rick owned car auctions in Chippewa Falls and Lomira, WI and was a proud owner-operator of his businesses.

Rick was an avid bicyclist, hiker, cross-country skier (he completed a Birkebeiner!) and an enthusiast of all things athletic. He transformed almost every family vacation into a sporting endeavor until he got sick, most notably taking annual cycling vacations with his wife Karen. His children refused to join cycling trips after their parents forced them to do RAGBRAI at ages ten and twelve, although they were always more than happy to ski with their dad. Rick’s all-time favorite activity was to play with his grandchildren, particularly throwing them in the air. He never dropped them once that we are aware of. To his brothers: we’re sorry to report deer hunting with you came in only as Rick’s second favorite activity.

Rick is survived by his wife Karen; his two children, Tori (Philip) and Wade (Lindsey); three grandchildren, Emerson, Dylan and Kamryn; siblings Jim (Ruth), Leroy, Ken (Pat), Donna, Joan, Tom (Lola), Steve (Pam), Nick (Jani), Arnie (Lori), Victor, Lois (Gerry), Herb (Cathy).

Rick is preceded in death by his parents, brother Allan and sister Kathy.

The visitation will be held at St. Paul’s the Apostle, W9485 Highway 8, Catawba, WI on June 27, 2022, at 9:00 AM with a service at 10:00 AM and luncheon to follow. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
