Rita Mary Oxley

Rita Mary Diamond Oxley, age 85, passed away, Sunday, June 2nd at Bell Tower Residence in Merrill, WI, where she located to in 1999. Rita was born on July 22, 1927 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin the daughter of Dan and Irene (nee Brill) Diamond. She moved to Woodruff where she raised her 4 Daughters with her husband Tom, who preceded her in death on November 8, 2011. Rita worked at Simpsons Electric, was a housewife, and her last job was at Paul Bunyan Gift Shop. Rita’s true joys in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. All that knew Rita loved her sense of humor, her ability to listen and most of all her ability to love. Rita is survived by her 4 Daughters: Anietta (Bob) Allen of Grand Forks, ND; Diana (Bob) Kirschling of Stevens Point; Katie (Charlie) Eternicka of Woodruff; and Lauriel (Scott) Arneson of Merrill; 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 5th at 11:00 AM at the Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, WI with a visitation from 10:00 AM till time of service. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery followed by a luncheon back at the funeral home. A simple memorial service will also take place at Bell Tower Residence on Friday, June 7th at 7:00 PM for those who grew to know and love Rita here in Merrill.
