Robert “Bob” Barber, a resident of Phillips, WI, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, peacefully at his home. He was 89 years old and missed his 90th birthday by 12 days. Bob was born April 24, 1935, in Lugerville, WI. He was also a Navy man. His parents were Jelmer and Mae Barber. Bob married his wife Sandy in 1959, that’s 66 years!
Bob was a Scout Master for many years. He loved to go fishing, RVing to almost all parts of the United States. Bob owned Rose Wreath LLC for 46 years. He had a great love and respect for all the wildlife and the care he took of them will be fondly remembered by everyone. Bob was preceded in death by his son David Barber and his parents and a sister Delores Tuma and husband John. He is survived by his wife Sandra, and son James Barber and Katherine Wilder-Soul Mate. Surviving grandchildren are Brandon and Suzie Barber, Liz Barber, and a sister Jackie Scharp – as well as numerous family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home at 1:00 pm. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 11:30 am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that any donations in Bob’s memory be made to Humane Society or spend some time in nature enjoying wildlife.
