Robert "Gene" DuBois, age 87, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Sacred Heart Hospital under the care of Ministry Home Hospice. Gene was born on August 27, 1927 in Tomahawk to Henry & Myrtle (Marheine) DuBois. At the age of 18, he moved to Chicago, IL. He was married to Lois Skare (from Merrill, WI) in Chicago on January 13, 1951; together they had two daughters, Rene & Michele.The family lived in Rolling Meadows, Ill. until 1965, when they moved to Brooklyn Center in Minneapolis , MN. Gene & Lois moved to Atlanta, GA and Portland ,OR from 1980 to around 1990 when he retired & they moved back to Tomahawk on Lake Nokomis. Lois preceded him in death in 2005. He later married Helen Dejung ( ne Clanton). Gene loved his home on Lake Nokomis- he called it " God's Country!" Gene was smart, friendly, funny, a hard worker, interested in politics and he loved to share a good joke & a good cocktail. He enjoyed taking friends and family on pontoon rides and often shared stories about his life and life experiences. Gene is survived by, Wife, Helen DuBois Tomahawk Daughter, Michele Woodward Newport Beach, CA Sons-In-Law, Bernie Litecky Coon Rapids, MN Blake Woodward. Newport Beach, CA 4 Grandsons,Brian & Mike Litecky and Clay & Sam Woodward. Gene is preceded in death by his first wife, Lois, daughter, Rene Litecky and two brothers, Duane & Delphis. The Funeral Mass for Robert "Gene" DuBois will take place at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. Louis Maram Reddy will officiate. Visitation will take place in the church from 10:00AM until the time of Mass at 11:00AM.
