Robert “Bob” Schlecht passed away suddenly and peacefully at his residence on May 5, 2022. He was 70.
The son of William R. and Ardell (Hartfiel) Schlecht II, was born in Milwaukee, WI on October 14, 1951. He moved with his family to Minocqua in 1959 and graduated from Lakeland Union High School in 1970. After serving in the United States Army, Bob returned home and was employed by Asplundh Tree Service.
Bob spent many years happily being surrounded by nature, trimming trees and making friends with everyone he met. Bob’s easy going manner and good heart touched many in our community. He lived his life following his deeply held faith and treated everyone kindly and with compassion. After his retirement in 2018, he continued to take daily walks in the woods communing with the wildlife and making many observations. Bob kept busy managing Schlecht’s Motel. His many guests became his extended family, filling many hours sharing fishing and hunting stories. He will be sadly missed by all.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by brother William (Dorene) Schlecht III and sister Sandra Hawkins. He has five dearly loved nieces and nephews.
Bob is being interred at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodruff, WI
