Robert J. "Bob" Morren, Sr., age 80, of Tomahawk, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2007, under hospice care at the home of his daughter, Chris. Bob was born September 17, 1927 to the late Eli and Gertrude Morren. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was formerly married to Romaine Vanstrydonk on on July 9, 1949; she passed away on January 23, 1998.
Bob was a lifelong resident of the Tomahawk area. He worked for many years at the Tomahawk Paper Mill as a Millwright, retiring in 1992. He was very active in Tomahawk Little League Baseball for over 20 years. He was a member of the Mohawksin Muskie Masters. He enjoyed watching his children and then his grandchildren in their sporting events. Bob enjoyed hunting and muskie fishing. The thing he loved most in his life was spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Robert J. Morren, Jr., Ronald (Gwen) Morren, Doreen (Chet) Anderson, all of Tomahawk, Charmaine (Rick) Kaiser of Cloverdale, Indiana, Cynthia (Gary) Dotter, Christine (Curt) Foster, and Daniel Morren, all of Tomahawk, 1 Brother, Roger Morren of Milwaukee, 4 Sisters, Kay Schoone, and Nancy Brunner, both of Tomahawk, Dorothy Stewart of New York, and Besse Seefeld. 11 Grandchildren, Jamie (Randy) Anderson of Tomahawk, Jennifer Morren of Germantown, WI, Derek Dotter, Jessica and Devin Foster, Scott and Eric Anderson, Jason (Erin) Olson, Brianne (Scott) Skees, and Matt and Nikki Molley, all of Tomahawk, 3 Great Grandchildren, Cole, Keegan, and Rylie. Bob is further survived by many Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, his wife Romaine, a brother Eli Morren, Jr., and 2 sisters, Grace Oliver and Virginia Stevens.
Memorial Services for Bob Morren, Sr. will be held Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 12 Noon from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk, with Rev. John Anderson to officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church from 9 AM until the time of services at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk
