Robert H. Samec

Robert H. Samec, 78, of Phillips, WI, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023, with his wife, Rosemary, at his side. Bob was born on May 25, 1945, in Berwyn, IL, to Henry and Stella (Janosvky) Samec. 

Bob joined the military after high school. He served with the United States Army for two years. He went on to serve as the President with the American Legion of Phillips. Bob worked many positions with Jewel Food Stores, including department manager and receiving clerk. He was proud of his 51 years with them. He met his wife, Rosemary Bonsall in 1996, and they were married in 1998. Bob enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, golfing, and completing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. He and Rosemary have many memories of their time traveling together. 

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rosemary; stepdaughters, Susan Lusher and Sarah (fiance, Chris) Lusher; sister-in-law, Carolyn Samec; niece, Robin (Stephen) Christenson; and nephew, Michael (Anna) Samec.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Charles. 

An informal tribute will be held at 11 a.m.  on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home, 284 Chestnut Street, Phillips, WI, 54555. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the tribute at the funeral home. Burial will be in Emery Cemetery, Phillips.
