Robert A. Witt, 89, of Park Falls, WI, passed away in the presence of his daughter, Kelly, longtime friend and loving companion, Rosie Dexter, niece Carol Megan, and close family friend, Kim Cole. Bob was born on June 18, 1935, in Milwaukee, WI, to George and Ella (Kuntz) Witt.
Robert resided in Milwaukee, Mellen, and Glidden, graduating from Glidden High School. He excelled in basketball and baseball, being signed by the Duluth Dukes before they found out he was underage, sending him back to Glidden to graduate. Upon graduation, he decided to enlist in the United States Airforce, and played baseball in the European Union League, traveling the world. Bob returned home after his enlistment in 1957. He then met and married Patricia Kundinger March 22, 1958. Bob reenlisted again until 1972, until he was medically retired with a diagnosis of Leukemia. Only given 3 months to live, Bob recovered and returned to baseball, softball, and other various sports for over 40 years. In the 70's, Bob started his business of 'Bob's Boob Tube Television and Repair'. After his retirement, he loved spending time with his family, playing sports, and teaching many children how to downhill ski.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Randy) Erickson; grandchildren, Crystal Witt, Denae (Jake) Walcisak, Heidi (Jay) Roloff, Travis (Ashley) Erickson, Raeanna (Clayton) Lyons; great-granchildren, Fletcher, Forrest, Aylah, Conrad, Waylon, Spencer, Liza, Azariah, Titus, Abel, Croix, and Cashton; his longtime friend and loving companion, Rosie Dexter; close family friend, Kim Cole; sister-in-law, Kathy Witt; numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; parents; siblings, Shirley, Howard, and George.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, 757 Cherry St, Prentice, WI 54556. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in NOLA Cemetery, Park Falls, WI, at a later date. Heindl-Nimsgern is assisting the family.
