Rodger Bartz, age 76, 217 S. 4th Street, Tomahawk, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 at his residence under home hospice care.
Rodger was born October 9, 1932 in Tomahawk, the son of Irvin and Laura (Bishop) Bartz. Rodger was raised in Tomahawk, and was a 1950 graduate of Tomahawk High School. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1951. He married Elizabeth 'Betty' Kraus on October 30, 1956 in Madison. After 20 years of service, Rodger retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1971. He then went to work for Owens-Illinois in Tomahawk, where he was employed until his retirement in 1991. Rodger enjoyed people, traveling, hunting, fishing, and time spent with family - especially his grandkids. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the American Legion in Tomahawk.

Rodger is further survived by 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rodger Bartz will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2009 from St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at Krueger & Sons Funeral Home from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 13th, with a Vigil Service to begin at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Rites will follow Mass at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
