Roger C. Belohlav, 87, a resident of Minocqua, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, Wisconsin. Roger was born on October 16, 1935 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Clarence and Clara Belohlav. Roger graduated from Boys’ Technical High School in Milwaukee. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was employed at AOSmith, AMC, and then as a Supervisor for Harley-Davidson in Milwaukee for 25 years. After retiring from Harley-Davidson, Roger and his wife Nancy moved to Minocqua, where they have lived for the past 25 years. Roger was an avid outdoorsman, a longtime traditional archery enthusiast, an expert fly tyer, a student of Taekwondo, and he loved working on model railroads. He was also a voracious reader of prehistoric times, American Indians, and war history, always having a stack of books within reach of his recliner. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Charlene and James Hanrahan, sister-in-law Bonnie Belohlav, and his beloved dog, Shadow. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, daughter Nadine Belohlav, sons Todd (Christine) Belohlav and Alan (Heidi) Belohlav, grandson Nicholas Belohlav, great-grandson Dominic Belohlav, brother Ronald Belohlav, and sister-in-law Susie Evers. He is also survived by his step- grandchildren Angie (Al), Bryan (Shauna), Daren (Katie), Jake and Ryan, and step-great- grandchildren Maddie and Maximus. Always in our hearts, we will miss his wit, wisdom, kindness, and gentle nature. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11:00am at Ascension Lutheran Church in Minocqua, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of service.
