Roger "Yogi" Emerson, age 72, of 540 N. Main Street, Plainfield, Wisconsin passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Yogi was born on April 5, 1937 in Babcock, Wisconsin to John and Maxine (Regalia) Emerson. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was married to Sally Olson on April 7, 1956 in Nekoosa, she passed away in 1995. Yogi was a Steam power engineer at Consolidated Papers in Wisconsin Rapids for over 35 years, retiring in 1997. He had been a summer resident of Tomahawk for many years. Yogi enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, karaoke, and spending winters in Florida. He especially enjoyed watching bald eagles and spending time with family. Yogi was also a huge Packer fan.

Yogi is further survived by 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his Father, wife, and a granddaughter.
A Celebration of Yogi's life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Krueger & Sons Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Burial with military rites will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m.
